William E. Dysart joined Wright, L’Estrange & Ergastolo in June 2006. He has been in the private practice of law in Southern California since January 1969. After a year in a corporate legal department, he was one of the founding partners of Friedman, Heffner, Kahan & Dysart, now known as Mulvaney Barry. From 1982 to 1988, Mr. Dysart was a shareholder in the La Jolla, California law firm of Dale & Lloyd, and from 1988 to 2006, Mr. Dysart was a partner in Dysart & Dubick, LLP. On June 1, 2006, Mr. Dysart became a partner in Wright, L’Estrange & Ergastolo. Mr. Dysart has extensive experience in corporate, business, real estate and maritime transactions with primary emphasis in transactions involving recreational vessels, including purchase and sales of yachts, construction and repair of yachts, property and sales and use taxes assessed on yachts, manning and crewing of yachts, flagging of yachts, financing of yachts and various environmental issues involving yachts. He has lectured extensively to various business and professional groups, including Continuing Education Programs for the California Bar Association, California Insurance Education Association, United States Navy, California Yacht Brokers Association, Society of Marine Surveyors, and various groups and organizations in the business, yachting and commercial maritime communities. Mr. Dysart has taught Admiralty Law at the University of San Diego School of Law from 1971 to 1991, and from 1991 to the present at the California Western University School of Law. He has written a book on boating and the environment called BOATERS BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES and is completing a book on United States recreational boating law.
