About Seafarer International

Seafarer International, LLC was formed in 2005 by the former President and CEO of Standard Communications Corp., Ron Blanchard. Standard was a leader in the marine industry with it's Horizon brand of products beginning in 1969. The marine division of Standard was sold to Yaesu in 1999 and continues today as Standard Horizon under the ownership of Vertex Standard.

In 1987, Standard Communications Corp. purchased Seafarer International Limited in Poole , England. Ron worked with the company to update product lines and adapt to a positive strategy for the future. Standard's ultimate owner required that the company be sold, and in 1990 it was sold to Arley Holdings. Sadly, Arley lost it's bank line and Seafarer was sold in liquidation. While it did not survive, it has a recognized brand name in the UK and positive associations.
