Wilmington is part of “the port of Los Angeles” and home to 10 small craft marinas. There are great marinas like California Yacht Marina, Holiday Harbor Marina, and the Island Yacht Anchorage. Take advantage of “The Banning Museum” which is located in 20-acre park. “The Banning Museum” is a restored Greek-Style mansion that was built in 1864. It features an extensive collection of Victorian art and furnishings. Take a guided tour through the mansion, schoolhouse, and stagecoach barn. Another great attraction for the family is the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Check out their awesome exhibits the Open Ocean, kelp forest, aquatic nursery, and more. The aquarium also offers a handful of learning programs for individuals, families, and schools. Make sure you spend time in the newly remolded Wilmington Waterfront Park. Opened in 2011 the goal of this park was to add a usable open space between the port and the residences of Wilmington. The park spans 30-acres, open to the public, and ideal for gatherings, children, walking, bicycling, and community events.
