Do not use them

I talked to the owner about installing a new engine in my boat, he said no problem. Well after 3 months still it is not complete. I called his shop and said I was done after no updates or phone calls. Now he will not give me my parts back ( this against the law) he ran away from my guy to his office and shut the door and would not talk anymore. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, if you wast the good communication or action. I never received an update call or a bill.

These folks are my primary parts supplier for Perkins engines. They've always gotten me what I need for 4.107/108s, 6.354(M)s, 6.354MGTs, and more. When I had a vessel in the Los Angeles area, they took good care of repairs. Don, Scott, Chris, Angel, and, earlier, Bob, have all taken great care of me. I hearsay that they are opening an e-commerce store soon, but, in any case, they are an old fashioned, full-service over-the-counter dealer/rebuilder/machine shop.

The demise of a once respected business!
Reviewed by Mark A. in Arcadia, Ca on 10/15/2019

I opened a yelp account just to protect people from this business! I dealt with this company before they turned it over to the son-in-law. That is when the down turn happened. I took my Perkins 4-107 in for rebuild a little over a year ago as I could not afford a new repower. They gave me an estimate of about $ 9000 ended up near $13,000! I accepted that as I understand extra problems arise as they get into it.I trusted they were doing a quality job as they had a good reputation in the past. I got the rebuilt engine and transmission back in the boat and immediately had several leaks in the engine! It was a fight getting the son-in-law, who took over the company, to warranty his work! Immediately after that I had problems getting the transmission to shift! I checked with his mechanic (who we like very much) and he said check transmission fluid. We did and it was low. Why it was low was a mystery as they said they had filled it? Turns out after using the engine it was low again after 10 hours! That brings us to this bad review as again impossible to work with the son-in- law! Will not back up his work! Wanted over $ 2000 BEFORE he would take transmission off and see what was wrong with this newly rebuilt transmission by them!!!! Then he comes up with the excuse that he won't work on it at the mooring although he did before! This is the classic sad story of the demise of a previously good company, when a ill prepared family member takes over! Also Bob who worked upfront quit. Probably due to the takeover! He was so knowledgeable and helpful! Now I am stuck with a leaking transmission $13,000 later! I also noticed just last year another person turned in a Better Business complaint with exactly the same problem! I would look for someone else to work on your diesel as this is not the same company as it was in the past!
