Welcome to Lockwood Boat Works - Over 68 Years of Service! Lockwood Boat Works is a family owned and operated boatyard since 1946. We are located on the Cheesequake Creek off of Raritan Bay in central New Jersey. Lockwood’s began in 1946 when Bill Lockwood Sr. returned from WWII and started building and selling simple row boats. This soon expanded and Lockwood soon sold not only rowboats but runabouts, cruisers, motors and trailers. In 1954, Lockwood purchased a piece of property on the Cheesequake Creek for a new marina with 13 slips. A few years later, 26 acres were purchased at our present location. This has since been transformed into the marina that exists today. The Lockwood family still owns and operates all aspects of the business. The third generation of the Lockwood Family has joined our staff. They, along with our other employees provide personalized friendly service; that’s what makes our yard so special. Our knowledge comes from first-hand experience with sailboat racing and offshore fishing. This gives us a chance to test the products we sell.
