I grew up in an era when it was a necessity to navigate position without using GPS to calculate and determine the set/drift and course while underway. I am old school trained, can navigate quickly and efficiently using paper charts, parallel rule and dividers. I am also very proficient with all the latest navigational aids including GPS, SPOT, hart plotter/radar, AIS, sat phones, online navigational aids and weather forcasts. I generally provide online real time delivery progress for owners and their family/friends using SPOT technology to keep all those interested in the delivery informed of the exact location of the boat at all times. I also have all digital charts for US and Mexico on my computer with live tracking capabilities as a back up to boat's system.
